Get the best protection possible inside your Pelican 1650 case with the TrekPak custom insert. Protect and organize your gear with TrekPak's innovative sturdy divider and pin system. The TrekPak insert allows you to optimize space while maximizing protection. In this kit, you will receive uncut divider strips that you will be able to cut (utilizing TrekPak's cutter tool) into smaller dividers to fit the gear you plan to place in the case.
Contents of the TrekPak 1650 insert are:
Two custom fit perimeter pieces for the Pelican 1650 Case
Two (2) dividers 28" in length
Two (2) dividers 18" in length
30 pins with 30 red pull tabs
Top and bottom foam
You can purchase the TrekPak insert to install in your existing Pelican Protector 1650 case or purchase the case and insert using the product options listed.
IMPORTANT DETAILS: Due to the depth of this case, we have found the dividers can sway slightly depending on how your case is packed. For extra stability and protection we recommend pinning dividers you do not plan to move from the top and bottom. You will need an extra pin pak which can be found here: TrekPak Pin Paks

For context, I was previously using a ThinkTank Airport Security v2. With my gear selection outgrowing the capacity of the Airport, I looked into the TT Logistics Manager 30, but ultimately I decided to move to a Pelican case with TrekPak inserts.
What drew me into a Pelican case was the overall level of protection. The downside was the not-so-great pick-n-pluck foam or the fairly lame velcro divider kits. Neither was appealing, but then I found TrekPak. The TrekPak padding and divider system is AWESOME! I cannot overstate the quality of the product. The closed-cell foam is soft in texture, but firm in support. Absolutely perfect for delicate camera gear. But the show stealer is the modular pin system.
I have to admit that it took me 2-3 days to get my new Pelican 1650 fully arranged and outfitted with the TrekPak system. You want to make sure you have a solid organization plan before you start cutting the dividers.
One recommendation I do have is that I needed a minimum of 1 extra full-length divider (so that you have enough to compartmentalize), and I ended up using 3 extra bags of pins (60 pins total), and could have used more. I used 36 pins on the top, but TrekPak recommends pinning the underside of the dividers as well since the Pelican 1650 is so deep. This keeps the dividers super solid, but also doubles the amount of pins you need. Also because of this particular case’s depth, you’ll want a few sets of TrekPak’s lens pads to take up some vertical space so that smaller lenses don’t shift back and forth. It also makes it easier to grab lenses out of the compartments.
Overall, I fit a Canon: 5D3, 5DSr, 14L, 24L TS-E, 35L, 24-70 2.8L, 100L Macro, 70-200 2.8L IS, 85 1.2L, and a Dog Schidt Optics lens. Then I added in a set of teleconverters, extension tubes, CamRanger setup, 2 chargers and 6 batteries, 6 filters with cases, sensor and lens cleaning gear, (3) 15’ USB tether cables, and a bunch more odds and ends. I still have room for 2-4 future lenses. Everything is solid and fits well.

I've been pleased with a set of TrekPak Pelican 1510 inserts for my camera gear the past six months that I decided to get another set to carry my interview audio and camera supports in my new Pelican 1650.
(Bottom) Rode Blimp with handle attached
(Bottom) Feisol CT-3441T tripod legs + Markins Q3T head (bagged)
(Top) Rode NTG-3 (cased) + Sekonic L-758DR lightmeter (cased)
(Bottom) Manfrotto MVH500AH Fluid Head + Acratech Leveling Base
(Top) Sound Devices MixPre-D Mixer + Sony PCM-M10 (Bagged)
(Back) Sanken COS-11D Lavalier (boxed)
(Front) Short coiled XLR cable + 30 foot XLR cable
(Bottom) Koniva 24" K5 Slider
(Top) Tool Kit, Batteries, and other miscellaneous items.
The inserts does a wonderful job keeping my equipment organized and at a reasonable weight. Adding a Pin Pak to your cart is a must. If you want flexibility in terms of adding different (especially smaller) equipment, be sure to order extra full length dividers. I'm planning to order a couple next time around for times when I want to swap out my Rode Blimp for my DSLR and lenses in one-man-band situations.

I have used Pelicans padded divider set for a little over a year now and was thinking about replacing it because of how dilapidated it had gotten. Then I found this! It's the best thing I have bought for my Pelican

It makes so much better use of your case than the regular foam inserts from Pelican.
What previously fitted a very simple Red Epic layout now fits all my Epic essentials - and fits them well.
I would have liked to get more separator inserts in each kit as im pretty fussy about keeping things separated - and that would mean more pins.
Extra pins are a must and probably should be included as part of the regular pack.

Highest quality option for the 1650 case. Will defiantly need the additional pin pack recommended for purchase.
